Please consider supporting WV KIDS COUNT’s advocacy efforts that use data to champion what’s best for West Virginia’s kids and families.

This event sells out every year with business leaders from around the state gathered to hear The State of West Virginia’s Kids Address through the release of the 2023 WV KIDS COUNT Data Book. As the most trusted authority on child well-being, this valuable state and county-level data is used to drive decisions that improve the lives of West Virginia’s children and families. Last year, Emily Calandrelli was honored as our 2022 Champion of Children, and we raised $28,000.  This year, we are hoping to raise even more in an effort to grow awareness, implement boots on the ground activities, and create advocacy opportunities for change.

The tradition dates back 34 years ago when Governor Caperton created WV KIDS COUNT. He had the vision and determination to ensure business leaders were not just at the table, but were leading efforts to make life better for West Virginia’s children and families. Today, there is a KIDS COUNT in every state, and in fact, West Virginia was the first KIDS COUNT’s in the country.
